BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 130.302, Education Code, as added by | ||
Chapter 766 (S.B. 2118), Acts of the 85th Legislature, Regular | ||
Session, 2017, is amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 130.302. BACCALAUREATE DEGREE PROGRAMS; GENERAL | ||
AUTHORIZATION. The coordinating board may authorize public junior | ||
colleges to offer baccalaureate degree programs in any field as | ||
provided by this subchapter. Offering a baccalaureate degree | ||
program under this subchapter does not otherwise alter the role and | ||
mission of a public junior college. | ||
SECTION 2. Sections 130.303(b) and 130.306(a) and (b), | ||
Education Code, as added by Chapter 766 (S.B. 2118), Acts of the | ||
85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, are repealed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
