| active duty members of the United States armed forces. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 521.002, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 521.002. CONVENIENCE TO PUBLIC. (a) The department | ||
| shall implement its duties under this chapter in the manner that | ||
| provides the greatest convenience to the public. | ||
| (b) The department by rule shall establish a system to | ||
| provide each person who is on active duty in the United States armed | ||
| forces the opportunity to receive an expedited same-day appointment | ||
| at a driver's license office on a walk-in basis. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
