| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 161, Health and Safety | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 161.01095 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 161.01095. HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS ANNUAL REPORT. (a) | ||
| The department shall submit a report on the immunization rates for | ||
| human papillomavirus in this state to the governor, lieutenant | ||
| governor, and speaker of the house of representatives not later | ||
| than January 31 of each year. The department shall publish the | ||
| report on the department's Internet website. | ||
| (b) The report at a minimum must provide statistical | ||
| information on human papillomavirus immunizations for each county | ||
| in this state and this state for the preceding year, including: | ||
| (1) the number of persons immunized for human | ||
| papillomavirus and the percentage of persons immunized for human | ||
| papillomavirus compared to the number of persons eligible for that | ||
| immunization; | ||
| (2) the number of human papillomavirus vaccine doses | ||
| administered in total and in each dose interval; | ||
| (3) the number of persons immunized for human | ||
| papillomavirus by age; | ||
| (4) the number of persons immunized for human | ||
| papillomavirus by gender; and | ||
| (5) a comparison between the number of human | ||
| papillomavirus vaccines administered and the number of other | ||
| recommended adolescent vaccines administered, including the | ||
| tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and meningococcal vaccines. | ||
| (c) In creating the report, the department shall use data | ||
| from the vaccines for children program established by the | ||
| department as authorized by 42 U.S.C. Section 1396s or the | ||
| immunization registry established under Section 161.007. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
