IN RE: |
SB1151 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the provision of transitional supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits to certain households.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 33 of the Human Resources Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules that provide transitional Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to households who no longer receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance under Chapter 31 of the Human Resources Code of the TANF State Program (TANF-SP) cash assistance benefits under Chapter 34 of the Human Resources Code. The estimated impact of SNAP client services is $1.1 million in fiscal year 2022. All SNAP benefits are federally funded; therefore these would not be an additional cost to the state for an increased number of recipients receiving SNAP benefits.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
