No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code, the Government Code, and the Penal Code relating to the carrying of a handgun by certain first responders. The bill would require certain first responders who wish to carry a handgun while on duty to complete a training course administered by a qualified handgun instructor.
