A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE UPON THE PASSING OF CORPORAL SARA KINSY WEAVER OF FLORENCE COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HER MANY FRIENDS AND COWORKERS.

Whereas, with deep appreciation, the members of the South Carolina Senate honor, on behalf of all South Carolinians, the great sacrifice that first responders make for the safety and well-being of our citizens; and

Whereas, the Senate was saddened to learn of the death of thirty-two-year-old Corporal Sara Kinsy Weaver who was fatally injured in the line of duty while assisting an injured motorcyclist on Tuesday, August 9, 2022; and

Whereas, born in Florence County on May 30, 1990, she was the daughter of Darman Wayne Weaver and Christine Helen O'Neill Weaver; and

Whereas, Ms. Weaver graduated from East Clarendon High School in 2008, where she played basketball and softball and was a cheerleader; and

Whereas, she served briefly in the United States Air Force and was a Nationally Certified Paramedic and an acting crew chief with Florence County EMS; and

Whereas, a member of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church, Ms. Weaver was saved and baptized at Great Commission Ministries; and

Whereas, as well as her parents, she leaves to cherish her memory her fiancé, Ashley Marie Welch, and siblings Jessica Michelle Weaver; Kenneth Christian "KC" Weaver, whom she lovingly referred to as Bubba; Nikolas Chase Stone; and Taylor Elizabeth Wise; and

Whereas, first responders from across the State came to pay their respects and show their support for the loss of Sara Weaver, the friend and colleague of the Florence County EMS; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the life and legacy of Sara Weaver and for the example of service, sacrifice, and joy she set for all who knew her. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Corporal Sara Kinsy Weaver of Florence County and extend their deepest sympathy to her large and loving family and her many friends and coworkers.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Corporal Sara Kinsy Weaver.
