A BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 44-53-190 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO SCHEDULE 1 CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, TO ADD SYNTHETIC CATHINONES, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS "BATH SALTS" TO THE LIST OF SCHEDULE 1 CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 44-53-190(d) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding an appropriately numbered subitem to read:
"( ) Synthetic cathinones, including, but not limited to, 3,4-methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV); 4-methylmethcathinone, 4-MMC (Mephedrone); 3,4-methylendioxymethcathinone, MDMC (Methylone); napthylpyrovalerone, NGR-1 (Naphyrone); 4-FMC, flephedrone (4-Fluromethcathinone); 3-FMC (3-Fluromethcathinone); 4-methoxymethcathinone, bk-PMMA, PMMC (Methedrone); and bk-MBDB, beta-keto-N-methylbenzodioxolylpropylamine."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
