A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE DEAN CREPES UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS DIRECTOR OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF VOTER REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONS, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Dean Crepes upon the occasion of his retirement on November 30, 2018; and

Whereas, Dean Crepes graduated from Newberry College with a degree in math and from the University of South Carolina with a Master of Business Administration; and

Whereas, a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy, he was commissioned into the Marine Corps in 1980. He transferred to the Navy in 1989, where he became a pilot, and he retired from the Navy in 2001; and

Whereas, from 1998 to 2003, Mr. Crepes was employed with the Employment Security Commission; and

Whereas, in 2003, he began his career with Lexington County. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Crepes showed exceptional expertise and dedication, and under his leadership, the Lexington County Board of Voter Registration and Elections was able to thrive; and

Whereas, a devout man of faith, Mr. Crepes has served on Church Council and as chair of the Fellowship and Planning Committee. He is also the treasurer for Lutheran Men; and

Whereas, Mr. Crepes has been married to his wife, Theresa, for twenty-four years. Together, they have three children, Sheri Cavazos, Amanda Vidal, and Dennis Crepes; and

Whereas, a born leader, Mr. Crepes has a strong sense of responsibility and integrity and has been described by many as ethical, loyal, honest, dependable, reliable, intelligent, intuitive, respectful, considerate, persistent, practical, and frank; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the diligence and commitment that Dean Crepes has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. The members take immense pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Dean Crepes upon the occasion of his retirement as the Director of the Lexington County Board of Voter Registration and Elections, commend him for his many years of dedicated service, and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dean Crepes.
