A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE MARTY KEENE OF THE MYRTLE BEACH AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ON BEING NAMED THE CHAMBER'S 2010 AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to note that Marty Keene has been named 2010 Ambassador of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce; and

Whereas, Chamber ambassadors are members who volunteer their time to ensure that all members receive the maximum benefit from their investment. Their service renders these members invaluable to the Chamber, and the members at large are deeply indebted to their ambassadors for the many hours of service they give each month; and

Whereas, ambassadors earn points by calling and visiting other Chamber members and acting as mentors. At the end of each month, these points are tallied, and an Ambassador of the Month is named; and

Whereas, during the course of the year, Marty Keene was named Ambassador of the Month six times. She made more than six hundred telephone calls to members; attended twenty ambassador meetings, four Chamber Access new-member orientation receptions, and twenty-four ribbon-cutting ceremonies; and participated in two Membership Renewal Phone-a-thons; and

Whereas, she did all this in her freshman year of service as an ambassador, making her achievement even more impressive; and

Whereas, the Senate takes great pleasure in congratulating Marty Keene on being named 2010 Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year. It is an honor befitting the dedicated service she has rendered to the Chamber. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Marty Keene of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce on being named the Chamber's 2010 Ambassador of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Marty Keene.
