A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-43-40 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (GED) TEST BATTERY MUST BE GIVEN IN ANY LANGUAGE OFFERED BY THE GED TESTING SERVICE IN THE UNITED STATES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 43, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-43-40. The General Educational Development (GED) Test battery must be given in any language offered by the GED Testing Service in the United States. The State Board of Education shall issue a state high school diploma to eligible candidates who successfully complete the GED test in any language offered by the GED Testing Service in the United States."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
