A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MATTHEW GREGORY DI BIASE, BETTER KNOWN AS "GREG," UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA BOARD OF ECONOMIC ADVISORS AFTER MORE THAN FOUR DECADES OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO HIS STATE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives have learned that Matthew Gregory Di Biase began a well-deserved retirement on January 1, 2016, after more than forty-one years serving the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors with skill and excellence, the last years of which have been as the highly-regarded Director of Planning and Research; and

Whereas, born in Georgetown, Greg Di Biase graduated from Winyah High School and then earned a bachelor's degree in government and public administration from the University of South Carolina in 1974; and

Whereas, following the tradition of sons of the Palmetto State, he served his country with distinction on a guided missile frigate in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and

Whereas, among his varied duties in his role as Director of Planning and Research for the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors, Mr. Di Biase provided detailed records and reports regarding state revenue collections and analysis for fiscal impact statements; and

Whereas, Greg Di Biase, in addition to being a person of great professional ability, also is a person with a warm and friendly demeanor who earned the respect and friendship of all those with whom he came into contact; and

Whereas, he plans to spend many hours in retirement pursuing his appreciation of golf and the University of South Carolina athletics, participation in Toastmasters International, and also spending more time and mutual interests with his beloved wife, Susie, the former Susan Geiger; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the years of unparalleled dedication that Greg Di Biase has devoted to the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors and wish him and Susie many years of enjoyment in his well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and honors Matthew Gregory Di Biase, better known as "Greg," upon the occasion of his retirement from the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors after more than four decades of exemplary service to his State, and wishes him much continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Greg Di Biase.
