A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO SALUTE THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GOLF TEAM, COACH, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE 2015 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Dorman High School girls golf team took top honors at the state competition, held October 26-27, 2015, in Lexington; and

Whereas, downing defending champion Lexington High by 5 strokes, the Lady Cavaliers earned Dorman a 641-646 victory. The Lady Cavs were led by Natalie Srinivasan, who shot her second straight 70, and Olivia Slatton, who contributed a 78; and

Whereas, to add to an already sweet victory, Natalie Srinivasan won individual medalist honors at the state tournament. The senior golfer and Furman signee also was selected as the Herald-Journal/GoUpstate Preps Girls Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive season; and

Whereas, in a sport that demands careful strategy and patient skill, Coach Lewis Terry, assisted by his able staff, used his own athletic ability and training to build a championship team and teach these athletes lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life, both on and off the fairways and greens; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the pride and recognition the Dorman High School golfers have brought to their school and community and look to hear of their continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, salute the Dorman High School girls golf team, coach, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them on winning the 2015 Class AAAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Ken Kiser and Coach Lewis Terry.
