A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE ROCK HILL HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM ON A SUPERLATIVE SEASON AND TO SALUTE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR COACHES ON WINNING THE 2015 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, well prepared for the challenge, the Class AAAA Rock Hill Bearcats won their eighteenth overall state championship on February 14, 2015, downing Fort Dorchester 45-24 at Dreher High School in Columbia; and

Whereas, with jubilant Bearcat fans cheering them on, the Rock Hill grapplers rolled through the tournament and pinned down the 2015 title win. As the Bearcats accepted their trophy, supporters began making plans to watch their team do it again next year; and

Whereas, over a successful season, the Rock Hill team grew increasingly more aware of how to put their talents to use and how to forge winning strategies implemented with a marked determination. They put their agility, strength, and perseverance to the test in the title match and made it two state crowns in a row; and

Whereas, such an impressive performance is not achieved by accident. Head Coach Cain Beard, ably assisted by Ryan Whitmore, Justin Williams, and David Strait, masterfully molded his close-knit team into championship form, enabling the Bearcats to hoist the title trophy once again; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the young athletes of the Rock Hill High School wrestling team and anticipate with interest learning of their continued praiseworthy achievements. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the Rock Hill High School wrestling team on a superlative season and salute these athletes and their coaches on winning the 2015 Class AAAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Ozzie Ahl and Head Coach Cain Beard.
