A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the week of July 1 through 7, 2012, as "National
Independent Business Week" in Pennsylvania, and saluting the
citizens and independent businesses who are integral to the
unique flavor of this Commonwealth and honoring their efforts
to make their communities places where Pennsylvanians want to
live and work.
WHEREAS, "National Independent Business Week" provides a time
to celebrate the independence of the citizens of this great
Commonwealth and the entrepreneurial spirit represented by
local independent businesses; and
WHEREAS, The individual decisions every Pennsylvanian makes
today affect the future of this Commonwealth and its many
communities; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's local independent businesses help
preserve the uniqueness of the communities Pennsylvanians call
"home" and give a sense of place; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's independently owned businesses give
back to their communities in goods, services, time and talent;
and
WHEREAS, The health of Pennsylvania's economy and that of

each community within it depends on Pennsylvanians' support of
businesses owned by their friends and neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's independent business owners and
employees enrich Pennsylvanians' purchasing experiences with
their knowledge and passion; and
WHEREAS, As we Pennsylvanians celebrate "National Independent
Business Week," we acknowledge that the well-being of this
Commonwealth and all of our communities lies within each of us;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize the week of July 1
through 7, 2012, as "National Independent Business Week" in
Pennsylvania, and salute the citizens and independent businesses
who are integral to the unique flavor of this Commonwealth and
honor their efforts to make their communities places where
Pennsylvanians want to live and work.
