| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Recognizing and honoring the life and service of Freemansburg |
2 | Police Officer Robert A. Lasso and paying tribute to his |
3 | sacrifice in the line of duty. |
4 | WHEREAS, Robert A. Lasso, 31, graduated from Freedom High |
5 | School in 1999 and studied at Northampton Community College |
6 | before graduating from the Allentown Police Academy in 2001; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Robert Lasso served as a police officer with the |
8 | Freemansburg Police Department for nine years; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Officer Lasso demonstrated exemplary knowledge, |
10 | ability and integrity in his commitment to preserve and protect |
11 | the health, safety and welfare of his community; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Officer Lasso never shirked from his duties and |
13 | bravely faced the dangers of his noble profession; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Officer Lasso gave his life on August 11, 2011, in |
15 | Freemansburg in the performance of his duties; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Officer Lasso's last moments were spent in service |
17 | to the Freemansburg Police Department, its special charge and in |
18 | protection of the public; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Officer Lasso is survived by his wife, Jennifer M. |

1 | Tallarico Lasso; son, Frankie; daughter, Rose; mother, Elsie |
2 | Stem and her husband, David; father, Donald Lasso and his wife, |
3 | Judy; sisters, Jessica Hawk, Jessica Ortiz and Julie Baido; |
4 | brothers, Jason Stem and Joseph Lasso and extended family and |
5 | friends; and |
6 | WHEREAS, The death of Officer Lasso is a sober reminder of |
7 | the dangers of his chosen profession and of the high caliber of |
8 | the men and women who answer its call; therefore be it |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and honor the life and |
10 | service of Freemansburg Police Officer Robert A. Lasso and pay |
11 | tribute to his sacrifice in the line of duty. |
