A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and honoring the life and service of Freemansburg
Police Officer Robert A. Lasso and paying tribute to his
sacrifice in the line of duty.
WHEREAS, Robert A. Lasso, 31, graduated from Freedom High
School in 1999 and studied at Northampton Community College
before graduating from the Allentown Police Academy in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Robert Lasso served as a police officer with the
Freemansburg Police Department for nine years; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lasso demonstrated exemplary knowledge,
ability and integrity in his commitment to preserve and protect
the health, safety and welfare of his community; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lasso never shirked from his duties and
bravely faced the dangers of his noble profession; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lasso gave his life on August 11, 2011, in
Freemansburg in the performance of his duties; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lasso's last moments were spent in service
to the Freemansburg Police Department, its special charge and in
protection of the public; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lasso is survived by his wife, Jennifer M.

Tallarico Lasso; son, Frankie; daughter, Rose; mother, Elsie
Stem and her husband, David; father, Donald Lasso and his wife,
Judy; sisters, Jessica Hawk, Jessica Ortiz and Julie Baido;
brothers, Jason Stem and Joseph Lasso and extended family and
friends; and
WHEREAS, The death of Officer Lasso is a sober reminder of
the dangers of his chosen profession and of the high caliber of
the men and women who answer its call; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and honor the life and
service of Freemansburg Police Officer Robert A. Lasso and pay
tribute to his sacrifice in the line of duty.
