| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Commending the Pennsylvania Association of Regional Food Banks |
2 | on the 25th anniversary of its establishment. |
3 | WHEREAS, Twenty-five years ago, the Pennsylvania Association |
4 | of Regional Food Banks (PARF) was established as a mechanism for |
5 | networking among the charitable food distribution centers |
6 | throughout this Commonwealth; and |
7 | WHEREAS, During its 25-year history, PARF has strengthened |
8 | its partner organizations by communicating procedures that |
9 | maximize their individual and combined potential; and |
10 | WHEREAS, PARF has assisted with the acquisition of food, has |
11 | developed public awareness about hunger issues and has staunchly |
12 | advocated on behalf of its partners' mission to national, State |
13 | and local levels of government; and |
14 | WHEREAS, PARF has informed partner organizations about |
15 | legislation that impacts hunger programs and has suggested |
16 | appropriate action for legislation; and |

1 | WHEREAS, The efforts of this organization are commendable; |
2 | therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Senate commend the Pennsylvania |
4 | Association of Regional Food Banks on its 25th anniversary for |
5 | its outstanding efforts to find solutions to hunger issues and |
6 | food insecurity in this Commonwealth and for ably providing a |
7 | mechanism for networking among the charitable food distribution |
8 | centers throughout Pennsylvania. |
