AN ACT

Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An

2

act relating to the public school system, including certain

3

provisions applicable as well to private and parochial

4

schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the

5

laws relating thereto," providing for pupil yearbook

6

pictures.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

8

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known

10

as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a

11

section to read:

Section 528.  Pupil Yearbook Pictures.--The board of

13

directors of any school district may enter into a contract with

14

a photographer for the taking of pupil yearbook pictures. The

15

hiring of a photographer by a board of directors shall not

16

prohibit a pupil from engaging a photographer of the pupil's

17

choice nor prevent a picture taken by that photographer from

18

appearing in the yearbook if the picture meets the

19

specifications of the yearbook staff.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
