AN ACT

Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, defining "corrections manager"; and,

3

in general administration, providing for salary of

4

corrections managers.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Section 102 of Title 61 of the Pennsylvania

8

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:

9

§ 102.  Definitions.

10

The following words and phrases when used in this title shall

11

have the meanings given to them in this section unless the

12

context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Corrections manager."  A corrections superintendent 1, 2 and

15

3, deputy superintendent 1, 2 and 3, corrections officer 3, 4

16

and 5, unit manager, facility maintenance manager 1, 2 and 3,

17

food service manager 1 and 2, school principal, health care

18

administrator, licensed psychologist manager, licensed

psychologist director, inmate personal services manager,

2

classification and treatment manager, classification program

3

manager, correctional industries manager 1 and 2, utilities

4

supervisor, motor freight coordinator and other classifications

5

that may be added to the corrections manager's pay scale and who

6

supervise or administer security and custodial activities at the

7

institutional or agency level.

Section 2.  Title 61 is amended by adding a section to read:

10

§ 1101.1.  Salary of corrections managers.

11

A corrections manager shall receive not less than the same

12

annual percentage salary and fringe benefit increase as received

13

by the highest ranking corrections officer participating in

14

collective bargaining.

15

Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011, or

16

immediately, whichever is later.
