A RESOLUTION

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Jewish Federation of

2

Greater Pittsburgh and commending the organization for its

3

outstanding efforts to enhance the lives of western

4

Pennsylvanians.

5

WHEREAS, The Federation has strived diligently to give care

6

to those in need, give deeper engagement in quality of life and

7

give strength to the Pittsburgh community, as well as provide

8

leadership and nurture the leaders of tomorrow; and

9

WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Federation has coordinated

10

a multitude of programs and worked in connection with other

11

agencies to support the needs of the community in the areas of

12

health, education and a promotion of society's general welfare;

13

and

14

WHEREAS, The Federation has fostered a thriving and engaged

15

community by building relationships locally, in Israel and

16

around the world; and

WHEREAS, The Federation recognizes the importance of working

2

collaboratively with people of all backgrounds and faiths and

3

strictly adheres to a policy of cooperation and inclusiveness;

4

and

5

WHEREAS, Funding for the Federation has historically come

6

from philanthropic donations, endowments and grants from

7

governmental and outside agencies; and

8

WHEREAS, Next year the Federation will mark its 100th year of

9

serving the community; therefore be it

10

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the

11

achievements of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and

12

commend the organization on its 100 years of working

13

collaboratively to create a better community in Pittsburgh and

14

western Pennsylvania.
