A RESOLUTION

Recognizing March 19, 2009, as "Pennsylvania Military Heroes

2

Day" in Pennsylvania.

3

WHEREAS, March 19, 2003, was the date that the United States

4

declared war on Iraq; and

5

WHEREAS, The brave men and women of the United States Armed

6

Forces continue to serve in Iraq; and

7

WHEREAS, The members of the military exhibit immense courage

8

for accepting the challenges and hardships that have come along

9

with their military service in the Middle East; and

10

WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has immense gratitude and profound

11

respect for the brave men and women of the United States Armed

12

Forces; therefore be it

13

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize March

19, 2009, as "Pennsylvania Military Heroes Day" in Pennsylvania;

2

and be it further

3

RESOLVED, That this day be recognized by citizens and

4

political subdivisions through the observance of a moment of

5

silence for all the brave men and women who gave the ultimate

6

sacrifice for this nation since the war began; and be it further

7

RESOLVED, That citizens and political subdivisions devote a

8

portion of their time on March 19, 2009, to the recognition of

9

the members of the United States Armed Forces and acknowledge

10

their many contributions, sacrifice and dedication to keeping

11

this nation safe.
