| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, providing for special procedures pertaining to |
3 | issuance of parking tickets. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
7 | Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: |
8 | § 3355. Special procedure for parking tickets. |
9 | (a) Digital photograph required.--At the time a parking |
10 | ticket is issued, the person issuing the ticket shall take a |
11 | digital photograph clearly depicting the rear of the ticketed |
12 | vehicle and all registration information on the vehicle's |
13 | registration plate. The photograph shall be attached to the |
14 | municipality's copy of the parking ticket. |
15 | (b) Attachment of photograph.--If a parking ticket is unpaid |
16 | and a second notice to the owner of the ticketed vehicle is |
17 | issued, a copy of the photograph required by subsection (a) |
18 | shall be attached to the second notice. |

1 | (c) Failure to comply with section.--Failure of a |
2 | municipality to comply with the provisions of this section shall |
3 | render the parking ticket void. |
4 | Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2010. |
