AN ACT

Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, further providing for purposes and

powers of parking authorities in cities of the first class.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 5505(d) of Title 53 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding paragraphs to read:

8

§ 5505.  Purposes and powers.

9

(d)  Powers.--An authority has all powers necessary or

11

convenient for the carrying out of the purposes under this

12

section, including:

(27)  In cities of the first class, to regulate valet

15

parking.

16

(28)  In cities of the first class, to regulate parking

17

lots, parking garages and other parking facilities and to

18

investigate and examine the condition and management of any

entity providing parking facilities.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
