| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, in support matters, further providing |
3 | for cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 4304.1(a)(2) of Title 23 of the |
7 | Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: |
8 | § 4304.1. Cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies. |
9 | (a) Cooperation of government agencies.--Notwithstanding any |
10 | other provision of law, including the provisions of section 731 |
11 | of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.343, No.176), known as The |
12 | Fiscal Code, all government agencies shall: |

14 | (2) Require the Social Security number of an individual |
15 | who has one on any application for a professional or |
16 | occupational license or certification; a permit; a driver's |
17 | license, including a commercial driver's license; [a |

1 | recreational license;] or a marriage license. Collection of |
2 | the Social Security number shall be performed in such manner |
3 | as to protect its confidentiality. If the government agency |
4 | uses another identifying number on the face of the |
5 | application, the government agency shall advise the applicant |
6 | and shall keep the Social Security number on file at the |
7 | agency. |
