AN ACT

Amending the act of June 20, 1891 (P.L.371, No.296), entitled

2

"An act making an appropriation for the erection of a home

3

for the training in speech of deaf children before they are

4

of school age," further providing for commissioners to select

5

suitable place for location of home.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

7

hereby enacts as follows:

8

Section 1.  Section 2 of the act of June 20, 1891 (P.L.371,

9

No.296), entitled "An act making an appropriation for the

10

erection of a home for the training in speech of deaf children

11

before they are of school age," is amended to read:

12

Section 2.  Commissioners to select suitable place for

13

location of home

14

The Governor of the State shall, within thirty days of the

15

passage of this act, select two suitable and competent persons,

16

who, in conjunction with the Governor[, Lieutenant Governor] and

17

the Auditor General of the State, shall constitute a commission,

18

whose duty it shall be within sixty days after the passage of

19

this act to make selection of a proper and suitable place for

the location of said home.

Section 2.  Upon the ratification of the amendment to the

3

Constitution of Pennsylvania abolishing the office of Lieutenant

4

Governor, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall cause the date

5

of ratification to be published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect as follows:

7

(1)  Section 1 of this act shall take effect upon

8

publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin of the ratification

9

of the amendment to the Constitution of Pennsylvania that

10

abolishes the office of Lieutenant Governor.

11

(2)  Section 2 of this act and this section shall take

12

effect immediately.
