| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, in ethics standards and financial |
3 | disclosure, further providing for definitions and for |
4 | restricted activities. |
5 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
6 | hereby enacts as follows: |
7 | Section 1. Section 1102 of Title 65 of the Pennsylvania |
8 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding definitions to read: |
9 | § 1102. Definitions. |
10 | The following words and phrases when used in this section |
11 | shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the |
12 | context clearly indicates otherwise: |

14 | "Legislative district." Any one of the 50 senatorial or 203 |
15 | representative districts of the Commonwealth. |

17 | "Nonprofit organization." A civic league or organization not |
18 | organized for profit but operated exclusively for the promotion |
19 | of social welfare or a local association of employees, the |

1 | membership of which is limited to the employees of a designated |
2 | person or persons in a particular municipality and the net |
3 | earnings of which are devoted exclusively to charitable, |
4 | educational or recreational purposes and of which no part of the |
5 | net earnings of such entity insures to the benefit of any |
6 | private shareholder or individual. |

8 | Section 2. Section 1103 of Title 65 is amended by adding a |
9 | subsection to read: |
10 | § 1103. Restricted activities. |

12 | (k) Nonprofit organization board.--No public official or any |
13 | member of his or her staff shall serve on the board of directors |
14 | of a nonprofit organization that is registered within or serves |
15 | residents of a legislative district or political subdivision of |
16 | which the public official was elected to represent. |
17 | Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately. |
