AN ACT
Designating the portion of State Route 30, from Wynnewood Road
to Station Road, in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County,
as the Master Sergeant Scott Ball Memorial Avenue.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Master Sergeant Scott Ball Memorial Avenue.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Master Sergeant Scott Ball was killed on August 27,
2007, when, while serving with the Pennsylvania Army National
Guard in Afghanistan, the embedded training team in which he
served was ambushed while assisting the Afghan National Army.
(2) Master Sgt. Ball was a Pennsylvania State Police
trooper assigned to Troop H, Carlisle.
(3) Prior to enlisting in the Pennsylvania State Police,
Master Sgt. Ball served the citizens of Lower Merion
Township, Montgomery County, as a Lower Merion Township
police officer from 1995-2000.
(b) Designation.--The portion of State Route 30, from
Wynnewood Road to Station Road, in Lower Merion Township,
Montgomery County, is hereby designated as the Master Sergeant
Scott Ball Memorial Avenue.
(c) Signs.–-The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to
traffic in both directions on the highway.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect immediately.
