AN ACT

Amending Title 46 (Legislature) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, providing for term limits for leadership positions

3

within the General Assembly.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Title 46 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding parts to read:

§ 1501.  Term limits.

(a)  Service.--No individual shall serve in the capacity of

3

the same caucus leadership position for more than four

4

legislative sessions. Caucus leadership positions shall include

5

all of the following:

6

(1)  Majority Leader.

7

(2)  Minority Leader.

8

(3)  Majority Whip.

9

(4)  Minority Whip.

10

(5)  Majority Caucus Chairman.

11

(6)  Minority Caucus Chairman.

12

(7)  Majority Appropriations Chairman.

13

(8)  Minority Appropriations Chairman.

14

(9)  Majority Caucus Secretary.

15

(10)  Minority Caucus Secretary.

16

(11)  Majority Policy Chairman.

17

(12)  Minority Policy Chairman.

18

(13)  Majority Caucus Administrator.

19

(14)  Minority Caucus Administrator.

20

(b)  Remainder of term.--This section shall not prevent any

21

person holding any caucus leadership position during the term

22

within which this section takes effect from holding office

23

during the remainder of the term.

24

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
