AN ACT
Providing for hearing on purchase of wetlands; and for notice of
purchase of wetlands.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Short title.
This act shall be known and may be cited as the Transparency
in Purchase of Wetlands Act.
Section 2. Hearing on purchase of wetlands.
Ninety days prior to the purchase of land by the Department
of General Services for the purpose of preserving or mitigating
wetlands as required by Federal law, the department shall hold a
public hearing within the political subdivision where the
wetlands are located.
Section 3. Notice of purchase of wetlands.
Ten days prior to the commencement of the hearing under
section 2, public notice of the hearing shall be published in a
newspaper of general circulation within the political
subdivision where the wetlands are located.
Section 4. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
