AN ACT

Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, in ethics standards and financial

3

disclosure, further providing for definitions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  The definition of "public official" in section

7

1102 of Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is

8

amended to read:

§ 1102.  Definitions.

10

The following words and phrases when used in this chapter

11

shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the

12

meanings given to them in this section:

"Public official."  Any person elected by the public or

15

elected or appointed by a governmental body or an appointed

16

official in the executive, legislative or judicial branch of

17

this Commonwealth or any political subdivision thereof, provided

18

that it shall not include members of advisory boards that have

no authority to expend public funds other than reimbursement for

2

personal expense or to otherwise exercise the power of the State

3

or any political subdivision thereof. The term shall include

4

full-time or part-time solicitor for a political subdivision.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
