AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the

3

functions of prothonotaries.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 2737(3) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8

§ 2737.  Powers and duties of the office of the prothonotary.

9

The office of the prothonotary shall have the power and duty

10

to:

(3)  Enter all civil judgments, including judgments by

13

confession. This paragraph shall include verification of the

14

identity of the person against whom a judgment is to be

15

entered.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
