AN ACT

Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An

2

act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public

3

welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for family

4

centers.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known

8

as the Public Welfare Code, is amended by adding a section to

9

read:

10

Section 405.6.  Family Centers.--The department shall provide

11

family centers. These centers shall seek and accept clients

12

requiring assistance and provide them with guidance with

13

parenting, life skills, pregnancy support, family recreation

14

options, health care and nutrition information for all family

15

members.

Section 2.  The sum of $15,312,000, or as much thereof as may

be necessary, is hereby appropriated from July 1, 2011, to June

2

30, 2012, to carry out the provisions of this act.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
