| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, No.230), entitled, |
2 | as amended, "An act relating to counties of the second class |
3 | and second class A; amending, revising, consolidating and |
4 | changing the laws relating thereto," further providing for |
5 | markers on graves, memorial certificates and headstones. |
6 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
7 | hereby enacts as follows: |
8 | Section 1. Section 2113(j) of the act of July 28, 1953 |
9 | (P.L.723, No.230), known as the Second Class County Code, |
10 | amended May 3, 1965 (P.L.27, No.25), is amended to read: |
11 | Section 2113. Markers on Graves; Memorial Certificates; |
12 | Headstones.--* * * |
13 | (j) The expense in each case shall be borne by the county in |
14 | which the deceased service person had his or her legal residence |
15 | at the time of his or her death, whether or not he or she died |
16 | in the county and whether or not he or she was buried in the |
17 | county. The expense shall not exceed the sum of [one hundred |

1 | dollars ($100)] two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) for each |
2 | headstone or concrete base or lettering or bronze memorial |
3 | tablet, and the county commissioners of the county, acting under |
4 | this section, shall cause to be drawn a warrant on the treasury |
5 | of the county for the payment of said expense in favor of the |
6 | party or parties furnishing such headstone or concrete base or |
7 | lettering or bronze memorial tablet. |

9 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
