AN ACT

  

1

Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, providing for a prohibition on

3

multiple electric meter installation.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

8

§ 1512.  Multiple electric meter installation prohibition.

9

No public utility supplying electric service to the public in

10

a city of the first class shall install a second or subsequent

11

electric meter in a residential dwelling unless the owner,

12

lessor or sublessor provides the public utility with a

13

certificate of occupancy for the residential dwelling issued by

14

the Department of Licenses and Inspections of the city of the

15

first class.

16

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
