AN ACT

Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, requiring public officials and public

3

employees who use government vehicles to provide proof of

4

holding a valid driver's license.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

8

Statutes is amended by adding a part to read:

§ 2101.  Definitions.

The following words and phrases when used in this chapter

5

shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the

6

context clearly indicates otherwise:

7

"Political subdivision."  A county, city, borough,

8

incorporated town, township, school district, vocational school,

9

county institution district, and an authority, entity or body

10

organized by any of them.

11

"Public employee."  An individual employed by the

12

Commonwealth or a political subdivision.

13

"Public official."  A person elected by the public or elected

14

or appointed by a governmental body or an appointed official in

15

the executive, legislative or judicial branch of this

16

Commonwealth or a political subdivision thereof.

2111.  Proof of valid driver's license.

§ 2111.  Proof of valid driver's license.

A public official or public employee who operates a

23

government vehicle shall annually provide proof to the

24

respective governmental body or employer responsible for the

25

vehicle that the public official or public employee holds a

26

valid driver's license pursuant to the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S.

27

Ch. 15 (relating to licensing of drivers).

28

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
