AN ACT
Relating to community college credit for persons who served in
the Armed Forces; amending ORS 341.533.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. ORS 341.533 is amended to read:
341.533. { + (1) + } { - A community college may - }
{ + The board of education of each community college district,
in consultation with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, shall
develop standards for the community college of the district to
implement to + }give credit for education and training obtained
by a person while { - serving - } { + the person served + }
in the Armed Forces of the United States, as defined in ORS
341.529. The { + community college must give credit for + }
education and training { - for which credit may be given must
meet - } { + that meets + } the standards adopted by the board
{ - of education of the community college district - } .
{ + (2) The board of education of a community college
district, in consultation with the Department of Veterans'
Affairs, shall develop methods for informing persons who served
in the Armed Forces of the United States about how credit may be
received as provided by subsection (1) of this section. + }
