Declares emergency, effective on passage. A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to special federal unemployment compensation programs; amending ORS 657.323; and declaring an emergency. Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. ORS 657.323 is amended to read: 657.323. The provisions of this chapter relating to the payment of regular benefits { - shall - } apply to claims for and the payment of extended benefits, except when the result would be inconsistent with the provisions of ORS 657.321 to 657.329. SECTION 2. { + This 2012 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2012 Act takes effect on its passage. + } ----------
