76th OREGON LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY--2011 Regular Session

                            Enrolled

                  House Concurrent Resolution 4

Sponsored by Representative ROBLAN; Senator VERGER (Presession
  filed.)

Whereas the Oregon Divisional Chainsaw Sculpting Championships
have for over a decade brought the best chainsaw carvers in the
world together in the Reedsport region to create master carvings;
and
Whereas many professional chainsaw carvers live in and around
Reedsport and the present day best carver was raised in
Reedsport; and
Whereas there is a plentiful supply of large scale carving wood
available in the Reedsport area; and
Whereas the community of Reedsport appreciates the chainsaw
carving art form and has long been supportive of it; and
Whereas recognition of the largest chainsaw carving show of its
kind in the world would bring international and regional
attention to Reedsport and would promote economic growth in
Reedsport; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of
  Oregon:

That we, the members of the Seventy-sixth Legislative Assembly,
designate Reedsport, Oregon, as the chainsaw carving capital of
Oregon.
