                 House Concurrent Resolution 203

Introduced and printed pursuant to House Rule 12.00. Presession
  filed (at the request of House Interim Committee on Rules)

  Whereas Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg was born October 5, 1973,
to Gary and Ellen Fredinburg in Salem, Oregon; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg graduated from South Salem High
School and went on to work in construction before becoming a
police officer; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg was an avid fisherman; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg worked for the Polk County Sheriff's
Office for eight years as a corrections deputy and a patrol
deputy; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg joined the Marion County Sheriff's
Office in August 2006; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg was killed in the line of duty on
June 16, 2007, in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 99 East,
north of Gervais, while responding to a call for assistance with
his lights and siren activated, when a vehicle crossed the center
line and collided with his patrol car; and
  Whereas Deputy Fredinburg loved his family and is survived by
his wife, two daughters who were 12 and 3 years of age at the
time of his death, parents, brother, sister and grandmother; now,
therefore,

Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of
  Oregon:

  That we, the members of the Seventy-sixth Legislative Assembly,
recognize and honor Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg for his service
to this state.
