SUMMARY
The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.
Requires that premises licensed for full or limited on-premises
sales of alcoholic beverages provide customers with information
regarding alcohol-by-volume content for types of alcoholic
beverages sold at premises. Requires that premises licensed for
full on-premises sales of alcoholic beverages provide customers
with information regarding alcohol-by-volume content of mixed
drinks served at premises to extent provision of information is
required by Oregon Liquor Control Commission rules.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to the disclosure of alcohol content in beverages.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2011 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 471. + }
SECTION 2. { + (1) A premises licensed for full or limited
on-premises sales of alcoholic beverages must provide customers
with information regarding alcohol-by-volume content for the
types of alcoholic beverages sold at the premises. To the extent
required by Oregon Liquor Control Commission rules, a premises
licensed for full on-premises sales of alcoholic beverages must
provide customers with information regarding alcohol-by-volume
content for mixed drinks served at the licensed premises.
(2) The commission shall adopt rules regarding the means by
which a premises licensed for full or limited on-premises sales
must provide customers with alcohol-by-volume content information
for the types of alcoholic beverage sold at the premises. The
commission rules shall include a requirement that any menu at a
licensed premises that features a type of alcoholic beverage must
state the alcohol-by-volume content information for that type of
alcoholic beverage. The commission may allow the use of typical
values, or ranges of typical values, in the alcohol-by-volume
content information that a licensed premises provides to
customers.
(3) The commission shall adopt rules to require, to the extent
deemed practicable by the commission, that a premises licensed
for full on-premises sales provide customers with
alcohol-by-volume information for mixed drinks served at the
premises.
(4) The commission shall consult with the Department of Human
Services and the Oregon Health Authority prior to adopting rules
for carrying out this section. + }
