                             SUMMARY

The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.

  Prohibits person from using device that produces sound at
certain decibel levels while on boat. Punishes by maximum fine of
$150 for first violation and $200 for second or subsequent
violation.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to noise on a boat.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Sections 2 and 3 of this 2011 Act are added to
and made a part of ORS chapter 830. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + A person may not use a device that produces
sound while on a boat:
  (1) Between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. at a level that exceeds 75
decibels as measured on the shore.
  (2) Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. at a level that exceeds 65
decibels as measured on the shore. + }
  SECTION 3.  { + Notwithstanding ORS 830.300 and 830.990 (3),
failure to comply with section 2 of this 2011 Act is punishable
by a maximum fine of:
  (1) $150 for a first violation.
  (2) $200 for a second or subsequent violation. + }
