                             SUMMARY

The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the
measure and is not a part of the body thereof subject to
consideration by the Legislative Assembly. It is an editor's
brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.

  Requires institution of higher education to maintain list of
degrees and certificate programs at institutions of higher
education that compares costs for each degree or certificate
program and average salary earned by recent graduates in common
positions of employment.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to disclosure of financial information by institutions
  of higher education.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Section 2 of this 2013 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 348. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + (1) An institution of higher education shall
develop, maintain and make available to each person enrolled at
the institution and upon application for enrollment at the
institution, a list of degrees and certificate programs offered
at the institution that compares:
  (a) The total cost of attendance to complete each degree or
certificate program, including the average cost of each major or
course of study; and
  (b) The average salary earned by recent graduates in common
positions of employment for each major or course of study.
  (2) As used in this section, 'institution of higher education'
means:
  (a) A public university listed in ORS 352.002;
  (b) A community college operated under ORS chapter 341;
  (c) Oregon Health and Science University; and
  (d) Any for-profit or not-for-profit institution of higher
education that operates in this state. + }
