SUMMARY

Requires board of education of community college district to
develop standards for community college to implement to give
credit for education and training obtained by person while
serving in Armed Forces of United States. Directs board of
education of community college district to develop methods for
informing persons of opportunity to receive credit.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to community college credit for persons who served in
the Armed Forces; amending ORS 341.533.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. ORS 341.533 is amended to read:
341.533. { + (1) + } { - A community college may - }
{ + The board of education of each community college district,
in consultation with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, shall
develop standards for the community college of the district to
implement to + }give credit for education and training obtained
by a person while { - serving - } { + the person served + }
in the Armed Forces of the United States, as defined in ORS
