A RESOLUTION

Honoring the Dayton Region as the top market for new business and business expansion.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Dayton Region on being named the number one market in the United States for 2012 by Site Selection magazine in the 200,000-1,000,000 population category for new and expansion projects by companies; and

       WHEREAS, This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to the Dayton Region, and 2012 marks the third time in the past five years that it has gained the number one ranking. The area's representative for JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition coordinates economic development locally, and with the assistance of the public and government sectors, the organization's tremendous efforts to build relationships and garner community support have led to the region's high rating; and

       WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Dayton Development Corporation has enhanced the quality of life within the Dayton Region, and it has earned the respect and esteem of many. We are proud to note that it is through the contributions of noteworthy agencies such as this that the State of Ohio continues to prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; and

       WHEREAS, America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are unique and which make a significant contribution to the culture of our state and nation. Over the years, the Dayton Region has become known for its residents' cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard, and these exemplary qualities are still manifested by its citizens today; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Dayton Region on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit duly authenticated copies of this Resolution to the Dayton Development Coalition and to the news media of Ohio.
