| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commemorate 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry; and |
| WHEREAS, This is a fitting time to pay tribute to the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council and all other chemistry-related organizations, for they have achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the State of Ohio. Declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Chemistry, 2011 marks a significant moment in history for the chemistry industry as it continues its noteworthy efforts to solve the problems of our complex world; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, the Ohio chemistry industry has made many significant contributions to the quality of life in our state, and through its tireless efforts, numerous administrators and employees have earned the gratitude and respect of all those they have so capably served. We are certain that in the years to come, these fine enterprises will continue to display the same vision and unwavering dedication to excellence for which they have become known; and |
| WHEREAS, The chemistry industry is responsible for countless advancements in medicine and technology, which are continually improving our state's economic competitiveness and attracting young people to this intricate field of study. We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of such organizations as the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council, which encourages and promotes advancements and investment in chemistry, that Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, observe 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council. |
