A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Kenton Ridge High School marching band on being selected to perform at the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Kenton Ridge High School marching band on being chosen to perform at the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade; and

WHEREAS,  Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the members of the Kenton Ridge High School marching band have displayed exceptional musical ability, remarkable confidence, and tremendous discipline, and consequently, they were one of only eleven bands in the nation and the only band from Ohio invited to take part in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A talented group of young people, the band has become known as one of the finest in Ohio, and it is deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,  Under the capable guidance of its director, Jim Templeton, and its assistant director, Alyssa Berger, the Kenton Ridge High School marching band has achieved the balance, blend, and harmony that are the hallmarks of superior performance. Mr. Templeton has not only encouraged his musicians to develop their talents to the fullest but has also instilled within them an appreciation of music that will benefit them throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS,  Participation in a high school band provides a unique opportunity for students to develop their musical skills and to enjoy a special camaraderie while learning the true value of perseverance and cooperation. Over the years, the Kenton Ridge High School marching band has excelled in its endeavors, and all those who have been involved with the program are to be commended for their exemplary performances; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Kenton Ridge High School marching band on its exemplary achievements and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kenton Ridge High School marching band.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 394, adopted by the Ohio Senate, December 11, 2012.
