| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Deborah Turner on being named the 2012 Teacher of the Year by the Correctional Education Association of Ohio; and |
| WHEREAS, Selection for this prestigious distinction is an honor of which Deborah Turner can be justly proud, for she has been recognized for her exceptional skill, commitment, and professionalism. An adult basic education/general educational development instructor at the Southeastern Correctional Institution, where she has worked for the past thirteen years, Deborah Turner has striven to channel the natural energy and curiosity of students into meaningful inquiry, thereby helping them to gain a better understanding of the world around them, and by presenting lessons in an interesting and comprehensible manner, she has consistently inspired them to excel; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Deborah Turner has made many significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our society. Through her decisive leadership and unfaltering dedication to service, she has certainly distinguished herself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout her career in the field of education, Deborah Turner has supported countless students in their scholastic endeavors and has helped to nurture within them a desire for excellence. Willingly giving of her time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, she has earned the respect and gratitude of her colleagues, her community, and, most importantly, her students for her genuine love of teaching, and she is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Deborah Turner for outstanding achievement and salute her as one of Ohio's finest educators; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Deborah Turner. |
