WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Dr. Bobby D. Moser on his retirement as vice president for agricultural administration and dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University; and |
WHEREAS, Bobby Moser is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic community leader. Previously serving as a professor at the University of Nebraska, associate dean of agriculture and director of the agriculture extension program at the University of Missouri, and director of the Ohio Cooperative Extension Service, he was named vice president for agricultural administration and dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University in 1991, and he has also held the posts of executive dean of the professional colleges and vice president for university outreach at OSU. During his tenure with CFAES, he was instrumental in strengthening research, teaching, and outreach efforts, centering on global issues, restructuring the college, increasing grant awards, receiving more than eighty patents, establishing the Food Innovation Center, and constructing of new buildings and biocontainment facilities; and |
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Bobby Moser has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. He was active with such organizations as the U.S.-India Knowledge Initiative on Agricultural Education, Teaching, Research, Service, and Commercial Linkages, the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board, and Dublin Baptist Church, and he has received numerous awards and honors, including induction into the 2012 Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame. In all of his endeavors, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan, and he is truly deserving of high praise; and |
WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of diligent people such as Bobby Moser that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper. Over the years, he has striven to serve his fellow citizens to the best of his ability, and we applaud him on his fine work; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dr. Bobby D. Moser on his years of service and extend best wishes for peace and prosperity in his retirement; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dr. Bobby D. Moser. |
