WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Walter Celley, a 1976 graduate of Owens Community College, on receiving the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Ohio Association of Community Colleges; and |
WHEREAS, Walter Celley is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining compassionate concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a helper and friend to all who know him. A former law clerk to U.S. District Judge John Potter, an attorney in private practice since 1989, and a member of the Federal, Ohio State, Toledo, and Wood County bar associations, he has willingly given of his time, abilities, and enthusiasm, and he has dedicated countless hours and seemingly inexhaustible energy to various worthwhile endeavors, including the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Schools Foundation, the Owens Community College Alumni Association Board, the Wood County Regional Airport Authority, and Boy Scout Troop 101; and |
WHEREAS, Known throughout the area as an exceptional individual, Walter Celley has demonstrated commendable devotion and social concern for his friends and neighbors, and he has earned the respect and gratitude of all those who have come to know him. Throughout his more than twenty-five-year career, he has represented several communities in Northwest Ohio, and his superlative work in and outside of the courtroom is the hallmark of genuine and responsible citizenship. Clearly, he has demonstrated the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society; and |
WHEREAS, It is through the unsurpassed efforts and unparalleled commitment of people such as Walter Celley that our state continues to grow and prosper and remains responsive to the needs of its citizens. He has earned a well-deserved reputation as a generous and civic-minded person, and he is deserving of the highest praise for his concerted efforts on behalf of the entire community; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Walter Celley for his exemplary service and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Walter Celley. |
