A RESOLUTION
In memory of Sergeant John Patrick Huling.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sergeant John Patrick Huling on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and

       WHEREAS,  J.P. Huling was a truly unforgettable man whose words and actions endeared him to everyone who knew him. A 2004 graduate of Moeller High School, he was a remarkable person who experienced joy, understood kindness and loyalty, and knew how to communicate his beliefs and share his strengths. He confronted challenges and faced adversity with an admirable spirit, and the legacy of care and commitment he established will surely live on; and

       WHEREAS,  J.P. Huling was an explosive ordnance disposal specialist with the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force of the U.S. Marine Corps, and he was taking part in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan when he was killed in the line of duty. The ultimate sacrifice that he made to defend the ideals of democracy will stand as a monument to his personal character, and his valiant efforts were truly admirable; and

       WHEREAS,  In many significant endeavors, J.P. Huling always used his talents to the benefit of others, and the laurels of his life stand as a tribute not only to him but also to those he left behind, including his wife, Priscilla, his mother, Debbie, and his siblings, Justin and Lauren. The great traditions of our country's service men and women are an important chapter of American history, and his family and friends can be proud of the sacrifices he made to ensure freedom and justice for all people; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the memory of a truly unique individual, Sergeant John Patrick Huling; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Sergeant John Patrick Huling.
