A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Professional Football Hall of Fame on its Fiftieth Anniversary.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Professional Football Hall of Fame on the memorable occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary, celebrated September 7, 2013; and

       WHEREAS, The fine reputation that the Professional Football Hall of Fame has gained is a credit to the dedicated individuals who have given willingly of their time, energy, and abilities to make the institution a dynamic leader in the preservation of athletic history. The Professional Football Hall of Fame's archives, located inside the Ralph Wilson, Jr., Pro Football Research and Preservation Center, houses the world's largest collection of information related to the sport, with more than twenty million document pages and three million photographic images. Their unwavering commitment to the highest standards of excellence will ensure that the Hall of Fame will continue its tradition of distinction in the years to come; and

       WHEREAS, The educational mission of the Professional Football Hall of Fame has striven to enhance the core curriculum of arts, geography, health, history, language arts, math and science for the state's students. Its Educational Outreach Program integrates professional football history with classroom studies for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade as well as those studying in institutions of higher education. Through field trips, teacher activity guides and workshops, and video conferencing, the Professional Football Hall of Fame underscores the state's commitment to innovation in education and creativity in learning; and

       WHEREAS, Over the years, the Professional Football Hall of Fame has enhanced the quality of life within and beyond the Canton area. The Legacy Leadership Project matches high school seniors with Pro Football Hall of Fame mentors across the country, recognizing and promoting the leadership potential of the state's students. We are certain that as this dignified establishment maintains its dedication to the sport of football and advancing education and social responsibility, it will continue to prosper and will uphold the tradition that has long been its hallmark. All those who have been involved with the organization are to be commended for their tremendous efforts, for they set an example of service that is worthy of emulation; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Professional Football Hall of Fame on its Fiftieth Anniversary and extend best wishes for ongoing success in its mission: to honor, preserve, educate, and promote; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
